Pottery on the Wheel (Afternoon)

Details of the Workshop:

Al Jasra Handicrafts Center is organizing a workshop on making pottery using the wheel. Clay is considered one of the natural products that is used in various industries. By using the wheel, it is possible shape the clay in order to create pottery pots of various shapes. Homemade products are an example of the development achieved by the Bahraini craftsman, who inherited the secrets of this craft from the ancestors.

 Workshop topics include:

•  The trainee will learn about the types of clay and the tools used in shaping.
• The trainee will discover the methods of clay wedging and kneading method.
• The trainee learns how to use the wheel to shape and sculp pottery items.

 Workshop Outcomes:

•  The trainee creates a work of art using the pottery wheel.

 Age: 18 years old and above

Language:  English & Arabic
