The Young Artisan- Painting on Pottery Dishes for Kids Workshop

Details of the Workshop:

 As part of the "The Young Artisan" program, Al Jasra Handicrafts Center organizes a workshop on Painting on Pottery Dishes. Pottery is one of the most historical famous Bahraini industries that has been practiced since ancient times, with archaeological research indicating its spread for thousands of years, due to the availability of materials suitable for this industry locally.  The variety of pottery products presented is a model for the development of the Bahraini artisan who imbibed the workmanship from their ancestors.

 Workshop topics include:

•  Preparing the pottery dish for work
• Identify the types of colors for painting on different surfaces.
• Learn about some special coloring techniques.
• Recognizing the mass, unity, and balance in the work of art
• Knowing the concept of texture and some special techniques in it
• How to output the artwork.

 Workshop Outcomes:

• Each participant will be given one plate of pottery from his work during the workshop
