Palm Tree Care

Details of the Workshop:

Al Jasra Handicrafts Center is organizing a Plam Tree Care Workshop.  The palm tree is a tree rooted in the history and land of Bahrain for thousands of years. Therefore, it is of great importance to the agricultural community in Bahrain, as Bahrain was known in the past as the country of a million palm trees, and people fell in love with this blessed tree, which resulted in the invention of methods and practices aimed at preserving and protecting it.

Workshop topics include:

• The importance of caring for palm trees and introducing Ras Al Nakhla service operations and the timings for conducting them.
• Learn about Ras Al Nakhla service tools.
• Taking care of the seeds so that they become fruitful.
• Palm trees, trees, and care: Fertilization - ratification - pollination - harvesting - harvesting fruits (sheep - sheep - flocks)

• Preventive and curative care – types of infections (insect and fungal)
• Pesticides, their uses and what they contain.
• The most important occupational safety precautions that must be followed when performing service operations.
• Developing the technical skills of national cadres on good practices in the field of palm pollination
• Identifying the external characteristics of the palm tree.
• Taking care of palm trees and improving date production.

 Workshop Outcomes:

• Preparing qualified national cadres to work in the palm field and creating opportunities for small and medium investment projects in the field of manufacturing and marketing pollen and advanced pollination services for date palms.
