Mohammed Assaf was propelled to fame thanks to his memorable performances on the second season of the smash-hit talent show Arab Idol broadcasted by MBC Group. The Palestinian young man from Gaza was acclaimed by the show's jury and the public for his stage presence and incredible voice, and was compared to the late Egyptian legend Abdbulhalim Hafez for his vocal abilities as well as his physical likeness.
