Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Bahrain National Museum,
The Ministry of Culture organizes 1st edition
Of Manama “ Nuit Blanche”
Sleepless night in Manama in celebration of 25 years of Bahrain National Museum anniversary is being organized by the Ministry of Culture by launching “Manama Nuit Blanche” festival. The event will kick off on 15th December 2013 and will last until Monday morning, 16th December 2013.
This 1st edition of “ Manama Nuit Blanche” activities and events will center around Bahrain National, Cultural Hall and World Heritage Arab Region Center. The night will be animated by diverse music shows and performances, plastic arts, literature and culture, singing, history and beautiful atmosphere. The event is open to the public, who is invited to take part in this challenging amazing edition of the Parisian tradition, in celebration of 25 years of Bahrain National Museum anniversary.
Literature will be present through honoring the talented Arab thinker and writer “ Najib Mahfouth” novels, critical readings discussing the complete works symbolism and creativity of the Egyptian writer. The evening of literature will be coordinated and presented by Dr. Abdul Qader Fadouh. An art exhibition, titled “ Dilmun”, will also show the creative works of a young Bahraini artist, Ayman Jaafar, in addition to the a movie screening and critical discussion to be followed the film of the Bahraini movie director, Mohammad Ibrahim.
“ Manama Nuit Blanche “ is orgainized in collaboration with the French Embassy, which will present two music concerts performed by a group of French musicians and a French photographic exhibitions. Indeed, the French embassy had sponsored the visit of two Ministry of Culture representatives to Paris, to get acquainted with Paris Nuit Blanche and invite the organizers to celebrate the same event in Bahrain. Both Bahrainis ladies met with famous culture figures, officials from the French Ministry of Culture and the Nuit Blanche Festival organizers. They were able to transmit the lovely atmosphere of this exceptional until dawn cultural event night given their understanding of the cultural mechanisms of the world’s culture public present at the festival. . First launched in 2002, Paris Nuit Blanche (White Night) has become a hotly-anticipated annual celebration of all things art and culture in the city of light. Attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, Nuit Blanche sees countless Paris galleries, museums, city halls, and even swimming pools open their doors all night to visitors-- with free entry
The Italian embassy will also take part in this event by organizing a piano night, which will contribute to the cheerful atmosphere during that Bahraini culture night, echoing Rahabanis’ inspirational music to be meditated during a sleepless night.
