The Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre presents The Nutcracker, one of the most famous plays of all-time. The show is headlined by the talented ballet duo Anastasia Matvienko in the role of the kind-hearted young girl Marie, and Denis Matvienko in the role of her awkward wooden nutcracker doll, whom she can sense hides a special secret. Their adventures together are an allegory for life itself with all its sorrow and pain, inviting us to reflect on themes shared by all of mankind.

The show features the famous score by legendary composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky who composed it specifically for this play when it debuted in 1892. The music is perfectly complemented  by the delicate choreography designed by Vasily Vainonen, and the breathtaking staging by Natalia Spitsina and set and costume designs by Vaycheslav Okunev. Together, these elements create a timeless masterpiece set in a vivid world of sheer wonder and delight.
