Born in Lebanon, Ghada Shbeir holds a PhD in Musical Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Musicology and Middle Eastern Singing from the Kaslik University in Lebanon, (Université St. Esprit - Kaslik - Lebanon). Shbeir also holds a diploma in oriental singing. She also teaches singing and Middle Eastern Theory at USEK and at the National Conservatory of Music. A devoted researcher in Traditional Middle Eastern music and in religious chants, she released three CDs with 800 melodies of Maronite Syriac Chants: 'Passion', 'Chants Syriaques' and 'Chants Syriaques, Noël'. Ghada Shbeir participated in several festivals, concerts, master classes and colloquia around the world.
Ghada Shbeir will perform a mesmerizing music concert accompanied by pianist Elie Hardan at the Cultural Hall. Ghada Shbeir will perform a selection of Lebanese, Arabo -Andalusian songs (Mouwashahet) and improvise texts by Al-Hallaj and Gabran Khalil Gibran.
