Considered one of colloquial poet Salah Jaheen’s greatest works, “El-Leila El-Kebira” (meaning “The Big Night”) follows a number of colorful characters as they attend the popular celebrations of walis (holy people) commonly held across Egypt, all told in an honest and humorous style that also incorporates Arab and Western music ensembles and song.
