Arabic manuscripts reflect the splendor of Arab civilization and its cultural achievements in the various fields of knowledge. In addition to translation and binding of foreign resourceful manuscripts, Arabs actively engaged in documenting their intellectual legacy which resulted in a vast repertoire that included hundreds of thousands of original and reproduced books. The libraries of Bahrain, like those found in other Arab countries, contained prized collections of rare manuscripts.
The displayed collection features some rare and exquisite illuminated manuscripts that are shown to the public for the first time to celebrate "Manuscript Day".
