Celebrating International Tourism Day and coinciding with the Chinese Cultural Days, The Macao Chinese Orchestra, founded in 1987, will bring the distinguished music of the Chinese nation to the Kingdom of Bahrain. In recent years, the Macao Chinese Orchestra has made an open recruitment of new instrumentalists from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Since it welcomed this “new blood”, the orchestra has constantly enhanced its level of performance and received critical acclaim from the musical circle both inside and outside of China.

The Macao Chinese Orchestra will be performing both traditional and modern pieces. In addition to exploring and developing symphonic orchestral traditional Chinese music, they will be emphasizing on performing commissioned works that feature elements of Macao’s culture. Organically integrating both Chinese and Western cultures, these works are novel, elegant and unique.
