A Tribute to the Great Divas of the Arab world will take place in a nostalgic musical evening at the Bahrain National Theatre, performed by some of the region’s most talented artists, Ghada Shbeir and Mai Farouk.
From the 1920’s to the 1960’s, the Arab world became the epicenter of a creative effervescence, where legends such as Oum Kalthoum, Leila Mourad and Fairuz emerged and shaped the golden age of Arabic song with their enchanting voices and indomitable personalities.
This musical performance, specially designed and conducted by Ramzi Aburedwan and Alain Weber, revives some of the exquisite songs that transpired through movie screens and radio sets, from Egypt to Syria, radiating to Morocco.
