The intimate relationship I build with my characters starts from the very first brushstroke. With confidence and passion, I move boldly across large areas of the canvas. As I mark the starting point and imagine what the end result may look like, the size and movements of these characters begin to take shape in a thrilling multicoloured drama. The characters engage and converse with one another calmly in some instances and animatedly in others about things, even I’m not aware of. It could be a quiet romantic conversation that imposes itself, or a bustling world full of life. This interplay between silence, noise and disclosure is where my characters and I meet. After all, these characters which were formed in the folds and corners of my paintings  bring back a sense of balance to the soul.
