Sri Lankan Cultural Evening

In collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the most celebrated Sri Lankan dance company, the Channa-Upuli Performing Arts Foundation, are set to perform in Bahrain. Channa-Upuli have regularly performed on stage and television for nearly three decades, enthralling both local and international audiences alike. The choreographer, Kalashuri Dr. Channa Wijewardena, specializes in dances of the Kandyan tradition along with his own unique style that he refers to as “Body Language” based on a standing position known as Thribanga. A fusion of traditional drum patterns are incorporated into this lively performance.
