On the occasion of International Theater Day, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities will broadcast on March 27, 2021 “Dreams of a Traveler: A Tale from Muharraq” on its CultureBah YouTube channel at 8:00 pmThe show will remain online to watch on the channel for 48 hours only.
The Bahrain National Theater hosted the show on the occasion of Muharraq appointed as the Capital of Islamic Culture in 2018, having worked on the show for more than a year. The show reflects the heritage of Bahraini culture through the perspective of world-class creators who have won prestigious awards, as the creativity of artistic director Jose Antonio Ruiz, composer Jose Nieto and choreographer Patrick de Bana collide. During the musical performance, the audience follows the story of the hero Aziz on his trip into himself as he embarks on a dreamy journey to finally reach his goal of existence, moving from Muharraq to the tree of life to reflect reflects the originality of the past and its connection with knowledge.
The “Dreams of a Traveler: A Tale from Muharraq” musical is characterized by a combination of instrument melodies ranging from the rhythm to traditional Bahraini musical sounds. The music also draws inspiration from the Bahraini musical heritage, blending with the great orchestral melodies of the symphony. As for the construction of the story, it follows the style of a dance opera. Despite this, the Bahraini heritage remains the heart and soul of this musical and performance composition. Bahrain's participation in this show came through the recordings of the Galali Band, the Bahrain Music Band, and the Dar Band.
