The Al Khalifiyah Travelling Library will launch in conjunction with the National Day Celebrations, moving one of the oldest public libraries in Bahrain and the first public library in Muharraq from its location in the heart of the old city to all corners of the Kingdom, with the aim of spreading the culture of reading to a wider segment of society. The Traveling Library’s locations and timings will be announced through our social media channels.

The history of the establishment of Al Khalifiyah Library dates back to 1954, and in 2017 the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities reopened it to the people of Muharraq and visitors after reviving the original building of the library, providing the public with cultural programs and specialized workshops throughout the year, as well as offering book lovers, students and those interested a space to read and study.
