Like gold, our history shines through the depths of time, with its intangible and “golden” heritage, it tells us that this is the land of eternity, where our heritage is inherited from our forefathers. We are delighted to share the richness of our heritage through this festival, kicking off its twenty-eighth edition under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, may God protect him.

Under the “Golden Jubilee” slogan celebrating 50 years of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, this edition of the Heritage Festival Our Golden Heritage illuminates the key significance of gold as part of Bahraini heritage. It has been one of the most prominent traded and popular commodities since the Dilmun civilization until now. The designs of goldsmiths, with their luster and natural properties, reflect the identity of those working on them, so that the names of these designs have been preserved in the minds over generations.

We at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities believe in the importance of strengthening efforts to protect the characteristics of our culture and Bahraini Arab identity, from which we always derive the contents of our cultural seasons as we seek to consolidate the cultural and archaeological heritage, making it a partner in the processes of comprehensive social and economic development. It is with pleasure that we return to normal life at our heritage and archaeological sites after the big distance and pause imposed by a global health crisis. The Heritage Village at Arad Fort will be the meeting place for loved ones during the blessed month of Ramadan, which we hope will be "golden" with its piety, joy, peace and beauty.
