Dar Al Riffa Al Sagheera was established in 1925 in a small building and was given this name to distinguish it from its larger counterpart, Dar Al Riffa Al Ouda. It is famous for reviving the songs sung during the wheat harvest season, as well as Mjailsi and Al-Wda’a during the last days of Ramadan. Currently headed by Hamad bin Abdullah AlShaikh, it has participated in numerous events in Bahrain and abroad promoting the intangible heritage of Bahrain to a wider audience since coming under the umbrella of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.
