Museums around the world celebrate International Museum Day on 18 May each year, an occasion that highlights annually changing themes, aimed at raising awareness of the challenges facing museums globally.
In line with the theme for International Museum Day 2025, "The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities", the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities is hosting a programme of events to highlight the Kingdom's rich civilisation and raise cultural and tourist awareness. These events are designed to encourage locals and visitors to engage with the wealth of cultural and heritage content on offer at museums.
The programme includes a variety of events, most notably: the opening of the exhibition "Cultural Assets: Ibrahim Hassan Al Hassan Collection", the launch of the Bahrain National Museum's official Instagram page, a documentary screening of "La Ville Louvre" in collaboration with the French Embassy in Bahrain, sporting activities with Kashta Tours, the launch of the "Find Enkiru" app at Qal'at Al Bahrain Site Museum, interactive workshops, cultural tours, and much more.
To further promote museum visits, the Authority will offer free entry to all museums on 17 and 18 May 2025.
