For more cultural openness and tourism management to foster a culture of cooperation during the celebrations of Manama as the Capital of Arab Tourism 2013, the Minister of Culture Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received Russian Cultural expert and former deputy director of international cooperation at the Russian Ministry of Culture Dr Galina Andreevas accompanied by the Russian embassy delegation. The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation and reviewing the latest developments related to the cultural, art and heritage arena existing between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Russia Meanwhile, Dr Andreeva had earlier taking part as one of the members of the judging committee of the 39th Fine Arts Exhibition patronized by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. This meeting comes within the framework of reinforcing cultural and tourist openness that the Kingdom of Bahrain had adopted always especially during the current year as it celebrates Manama as the Capital of Arab Tourism 2013.
For her part the Minister of Culture extended her thanks and appreciation to Dr Andreeva for being part of the judging committee this year. She also discussed means of further bolstering cooperation with the delegation on all levels. H.E Shaikha Mai thanked the Russian delegation for hosting the Tylos Expo, opened at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg in July 2012, under the theme of “Tylos: the Journey Beyond Life" and under the patronage of HRM Shaikha Sabbeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa. The exhibition was successful and attracted many visitors, who appreciated the high level of historical and intellectual content of these artifacts.
