The Arab world’s most recent singing sensation Mohammed Assaf did not disappoint the legions of adoring fans who flocked to the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center (BIECC) last night (Sunday, Sept 1). The sold out show was one of the highlights of the 2013 Bahrain Summer Festival’s star-studded line up of shows.
Assaf, who hails from Gaza, shot to superstardom after winning the latest season of the hit talent program Arab Idol broadcast on MBC thanks to his charismatic stage presence and incredible vocal talent. In his concert, he performed a medley of songs that had the audience enthusiastically clapping and singing clapping along; from timeless classics by the likes of Abdulhalim Hafiz and Umm Kulthoom to contemporary pop songs, as well as songs from traditional Palestinian folklore.
Everyone’s favorite dinosaur Barney will return to Bahrain for his latest adventure “Barney Let’s go! Live on Stage!” with two shows each day (10 am and 6 pm) starting from today (Sept 2) to September 6 at the BIECC. Tickets for the shows are sold at Virgin Megastores.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture from August 18 – September 9 under the slogan “A Journey of Joy”, the popular annual festival takes place this year during the leisure tourism season of the ministry’s Manama Capital of Arab Tourism 2013 program.
