Bollywood-inspired show “Mystic India” is closing the 2013 Bahrain Summer Festival in fine fashion with the first of two shows held last night (Sunday, Sept 8) at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center (BIECC). The second show will be held on September 9 at 8 pm, with tickets sold at Virgin Megastores in Bahrain City Center or at the venue, space permitting.
The show was well worth the wait as audiences from all backgrounds packed the BIECC to witness this music and dance extravaganza. The show tells the story of India’s transition through the ages, melding traditional Bollywood hallmarks such as colorful outfits and intricately choreographed dance numbers with modern influences to re-create this story. By telling this tale, audiences were exposed to the ancient traditions and diverse cultural festivals that make India such a special place.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture from August 18 – September 9 under the slogan “A Journey of Joy”, the popular annual festival took place this year during the leisure tourism season of the ministry’s Manama Capital of Arab Tourism 2013 program.
As with every year, the festival brought to Bahrain its trademark lineup of action-packed family-friendly shows from around the world to entertain, educate, and facilitate cultural exchange and dialogue.
