Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism Attends the Opening of Rame Hotel
In a tendency to boost the tourism industry through the private sector encouragement plans, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism, Shaikh Khalid Bin Hmood Al-Khalifa said “ This is tendency to promote al-Seef area touristic resorts is a smart investment for cities development, which would help create tourism attractions at the heart of Bahraini Capital, Manama”. H.E Shaikh Khalid declared this during the official opening of Ramee Group’s first five-star property in Bahrain’s Seef District, Ramee Grand Hotel & Spa on Saturday 2 September, adding “ This fruitful coordination between the tourism investment corporations and the Ministry of Culture is a good sign, which reflects an increasing interest in the urban development policies, helping tourists to enjoy the gorgeous places and beautiful landscape of Bahrain”. Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism added that “ hotel accommodation sector investment value is estimated to over 150 million BD today, as part of our policy to promote and support the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain”.
It is worth mentioning that Ramee Group’s first five-star property in Bahrain’s Seef District has begun welcoming guests after its soft opening on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.
The 24-story Ramee Grand Hotel & Spa is claimed to be the tallest five-star hotel in Bahrain. The $53 million Luxury by Ramee property joins the regional group’s bouquet of more than 35 hotels and apartment hotels in the GCC and India.
The hotel features 12 two-bedroom Ambassador suites, 18 one-bedroom contemporary Grand Suites and 110 spacious deluxe rooms that are 54 sqm in size and feature floor-to-ceiling windows.
Speaking on the design concept of the hotel, Shantaram Shetty, group GM, says: “The predominant theme in the hotel is nature. It makes use of natural lighting wherever possible; wood is used extensively in the property, and mild colors have been chosen to be in harmony with the environment.”
In an attempt to promote Bahrain’s natural heritage, posters of the prominent landmark the Tree of Life have been placed throughout the hotel’s corridors, lobbies and rooms. Serviced by 10 lifts, the hotel provides direct access to some of its premium facilities from the grand lobby. The hotel will house three club floors, 800 sqm conference/banqueting facilities; a floor of recreation facilities including a spa and a swimming pool and a fully-equipped gym; and a space for 180 cars across three basement levels. Dining options at the hotel include the all-day dining Lemon Tree restaurant; Rialto, an authentic Italian restaurant; Rasoi, the Indian restaurant with live ghazal music; Ruka, the Japanese restaurant on the 24th floor with spectacular views of the Manama skyline; Tea Garden, a specialist tea lounge; and the Red Lions sports bar. Final touches are also being put on the Ibrida Club.
Ramee Grand directors asserted their full support for Bahrain’s tourism sector plans to promote the Kingdom rich historical heritage and archaeological sites for GCC tourists during weekend holidays through guided tours. Qala’at Al-Bahrain, Muharraq historical houses, Bahrain National Museum, Tree of Life site and others will also feature among the preferred destinations for hotel guests.
