“Art Market” Is Back Today
The iconic Bab Al-Bahrain will host a three-day market showcasing budding artworks as part of "Art Market" 2nd event in cooperation with Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah). The event will be launched Today, Thursday, evening (February 13) as part of festivities marking "Year of the Arts 2014" at 5:00.
Art Market February , organized by the Ministry of Culture, will run from 13-15 February 2014, giving young aspiring entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their creativity and sell their products, which will consist of art, clothing, accessories, food, and much more. The atmosphere at BAB Market will be revived with live musical performances by talented Bahraini musicians, magic, workshops, kids’ activities, and a popup gallery to showcase the artwork of local artists, sculptures, graphics, photography etc.
The 2nd version of “ Art Market” coincides with the Ministry of Cultures’ celebrations of National Action Charter, whereby Bab Al Bahrain will turn into an open-air theatre for many cultural events on 14 February, from 4:00-9:00. The celebrations will start with a concert by Note 13 Music band at 4:00-6:00.Then Mohammad Bin Faris Music Band will revive sweet memories of a beloved country’s glorious past, prosperous present, whether economically, socially or culturally from 6:00-8:00>
The Ministry of Culture will also inaugurate a new event of live painting show, based on words and sentences immortalized by the National Charter, using Arabic Calligraphy, which will give a charm to this memory.
It is worth to mention that “ Art Market” starts every month in the second weekend during 2014 in parallel to the ongoing celebrations of “ Our Year of Arts”.
