H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture, received the newly-appointed Tunisian Ambassador to Bahrain Mohammed bin Youssef. H.E Shaikha Mai discussed joint cultural and tourism cooperation during 2014, themed "the Year of Arts", and the coming year, as well as a number of pertaining Bahraini cultural issues.
H.E, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture congratulated Mr. Mohammed bin Youssef on his appointment to the post, affirming the importance of interaction and activation of cultural exchange between the two countries, as the best way to boost joint cooperation between them. The Minister of Culture added that in 2014, Manama will celebrate a year of art and highlight the artistic contributions of other civilisations in order to reach to all, peoples and civilisations of the world and boost tourism sector.
The Tunisian Ambassador lauded the choice of Manama as Capital of Asian Tourism in 2014, in recognition of Bahrain's rich civilisational heritage and importance on the world cultural and tourist map. The Tunisian Ambassador called for the need to extend bridges of cultural rapprochement and interaction among peoples of the world, praising Bahrain's landmark experience in highlighting successive civilisations. H.E expressed hope that the two countries will enhance constructive cooperation through launching joint cultural projects with the Culture Ministry on the sidelines of the "Year of Arts" event.
