The Ministry of Culture would like to inform the public that “Pink Martini” -Saori Yuki” concert tickets are on sale now at Virgin Megastore at Bahrain City Centre and online at virginmegastore.me. Students can enjoy a 15% discount when purchasing tickets for Balcony 1 and Balcony 2. Only available in store, valid ID required
Drawing inspiration from music from all over the world – crossing genres of classical, jazz and old- fashioned pop – and hoping to appeal to conservatives and liberals alike, he founded the “little orchestra” Pink Martini in 1994 to provide more beautiful and inclusive musical soundtracks for political fundraisers for causes such as civil rights, affordable housing, the environment, libraries, public broadcasting, education and parks.
Renowned world-wide for its wide range of musical genres spanning classical, jazz and pop, Pink Martini is a self-described “little orchestra” which has collaborated with artists and played in venues all around the world, including the Middle East.
In one unforgettable concert in Bahrain, the acclaimed group will recapture the magic of their collaboration with the “Barbara Streisand of Japan” Saori Yuki, one of Japan’s most iconic divas, in the remarkable album “1969” released in 2011, a spectacular cultural dialogue between featured Yuki’s soaring vocals and Pink Martini’s stellar musicianship.
