It is a unique opportunity for the global travel trade to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business. The Ministry of Culture is participating in the 35th annual World Travel Market (WTM), which is held in London from 3-6 November 2014. More than 5,000 exhibitors & exhibiting partners from over 180 countries are taking part in the event. World Travel Market, the leading global event for the travel industry, will – as it has done since its launch event in 1980 – host the global travel and tourism industry as it looks to discuss business deals and the current issues facing the sector. WTM 2014 will facilitate deals worth around £2.5 billion in travel industry contracts between exhibitors and buyers from the WTM Buyers’ Club.
The Kingdom' of Bahrain’s delegation to WTM is led by the Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism Shaikh Khalid bin Hmood Al Khalifa, who highlighted the importance of the event in promoting tourism in Bahrain. H.E asserted the Ministry of Culture's keenness to participate in such gatherings to consolidate the Kingdom as a world tourism destination, saying “We are determined to enhance and promote the presence of the Kingdom of Bahrain as world tourist destination, investing in our historical and civilizational heritage, which gives a unique impetus and advantage, both culturally and economically”. Bahrain’s participation comes as part of “Manama Asian Tourism City 2014” promotion strategy.
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s stand presents the most attractive tourism features, the unique monuments and charming tourism destination spots to be promoted in this world event. Through participating in such a world event, the Ministry of Culture’s Tourism Sector aims to highlight the Kingdom's experience and adherence to its cultural identity following the Manama as Capital of Asian Tourism 2014. The Ministry of Culture Tourism Sector is holding a series of meetings and events in this WTM, which aim to attract businessmen, world travel agencies and promoting Bahrain as a strategically located destination. Bahraini investment and travel corporations took part in this world event to showcase the national tourist attractions heritage and innovations. Indeed, Bahrain is a gateway to the Middle East and has the added attraction of a safe and pleasant environment, warm climate together with history, culture, traditions and has emerged as a destination of choice for corporate events, meetings, conferences, exhibitions and other world-class events. The WTM London marks its 35th anniversary this year, which is a great opportunity to connect with leaders of the global travel, tourism, hospitality and entertainment industry, along with other international destinations, travel and tourism companies and international groups of hotels and resorts.
