High-level Chinese Delegation Visit the National Museum and Bahrain Fort

Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Yu Zhengsheng, and a high-level delegation visited Bahrain National Museum on 7th November and Qalat al Bahrain on 6th November. The delegation toured the different halls of the museum and appreciated the deeply-rooted historical and heritage related acquisitions of Bahrain’s National Museum as part of its exhibitions.

The delegation lauded Bahrain National Museum’s role in safeguarding world heritage, hailing the Ministry of Culture’s activities that enhance national identity and tourism in the Arab region. The honored Chinese guests stressed the importance of such priceless museum acquisitions, which reflect Bahrain’s unique position as a lighthouse of culture and history. They also visited the Modern and Contemporary Saudi Art, The Al-Mansouria Collection, exhibition and appreciated the art masterpieces.

They also visited the site of Bahrain Fort, which is considered to be one of the largest historical settlement sites in the Kingdom of Bahrain This site was included on the World Heritage List in 2005 due to its antique historical value.

Historical relations between Bahrain and China date back to thousands years ago and both countries share many common values and interests. The Chinese delegation’s visit comes as part of the celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both countries, and discussed ways of bolstering bilateral cooperation in cultural projects and the ongoing preparations, as part of Manama Asian Tourism City 2014, and the previous Silk Road exhibition, held earlier this year.
