President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received today the Italian ambassador to Bahrain, Alberto Vecchi, who presented her with an invitation to attend the International Conference of Culture Ministers for countries that are taking part in Expo Milano 2015. The conference will be held in Italy on July 31 and August 1. Both sides also discussed ways of boosting bilateral cooperation, mainly in the cultural field, and issues of common interests, which would help in offering more varied celebrations of “Our Year of Heritage” events.
H.E Shaikha Mai, Bahrain’s Milano Expo 2015 Pavilion commissioner general, expressed her gratitude and thanks to the Italian ambassador for the invitation and updated him on Bahrain's preparations for its participation in Expo Milano 2015, which is set to be held in Italy from May to November 2015.
The Italian ambassador, for his part, lauded the kingdom's achievements so far regarding its participation in Expo Milano 2015, citing Bahrain’s pavilion as the first pavilion whose construction has been completed amongst 50 other national pavilions from around the world. The Italian ambassador said that he was looking forward to carrying out many cultural projects in the future in cooperation with BACA. H.E Ambassador Vecchi described the event as a “great opportunity for Bahrain to showcase its culture, agriculture and heritage on a global scale.”
