H.E Shaikha Mai receives Thai Princess Jayankura
As part of its continued strategy to enhance cultural relations and to strengthen and diversify cooperation between peoples and countries, H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, president of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA), welcomed Thai Princess and businesswoman Rajadarasri Jayankura, in the presence of Editor-in-Chief Gloria Starr Kins of the Society and Diplomatic Review on 7 December 2015. The visit to Bahrain National Museum comes as part of the Thai Princess’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
BACA’s president highlighted the importance of humanitarian and cultural communication among peoples of the world. H.E underlined Bahrain's efforts in enhancing its regional and international cultural and tourism ranking and discussed with her guests ways to bolster the outstanding bilateral relations in all fields.
The visiting delegation expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and lauded Bahrain's rich culture and history. Princess Rajadarasri Jayankura praised the depth of outstanding relations binding Bahrain and Thailand and H.E efforts and constant efforts in strengthening friendship ties.
The delegation toured many of the museum’s exhibition halls displaying Bahrain’s rich ancient heritage and civilization and guests expressed their admiration over the excellent organization of the exhibits and preservation efforts. They appreciated the historical importance of the archaeological findings exhibited in the museum halls and were impressed by the precious stones and semi-precious metals inside these ancient civilization’s graves. Bahrain National Museum boasts 4000 years of artifacts when the first human inhabitants set foot here.
