H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, president of the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA), received on 9 December 2015 the French ambassador to Bahrain Bernard Régnauld-Fabre, in the presence of the Cultural Cooperation Advisor at the French Embassy in Bahrain Dominique Chastres. The meeting discussed ways to enhance joint cultural cooperation and highlighted the latest cultural and civilizational projects in the Kingdom.
H.E affirmed the strength of the Bahraini-French relations lauding the French Embassy's effective participation in the cultural activities in the Kingdom.
H.E Shaikha Mai highlighted the events to be held by BACA, between December 15 and 23, marking Bahrain's celebrations of the National Days. This included the ‘Manama Doesn’t Sleep’ event in which the French Embassy will contribute with a concert in which a French band will perform. These activities will inaugurate the 2016 events which will be allocated to celebrating Bahrain as a leading cultural destination in the region under the theme ‘Bahrain, Your Destination 2016’.
The French ambassador, for his part, lauded BACA's efforts to promote the Kingdom's civilizational and human identity while extending bridges of cooperation between the Bahraini people and the world. The French ambassador also hailed the Ministry’s efforts to protect heritage and promote cooperation with France’s cultural institutions.
