The Art Center, in a unique art experience, has the pleasure to invite you to discover the beauty of a rainbow of colors and refresh your mind by the ‘Inspirations’ of the solo exhibition by Salwa Yousif Almoayyed, which was openned Thursday, February 12, 2015.
Salwa Al Moayyed’s first solo exhibition, ‘Inspirations’, features a collection of paintings produced over the past 30 years that translates the fantastic journey of a creative artist. The artist has been painting various mediums including water color, oils, and acrylics. Visitors will discover how her oil painting engages in a practice that requires diligence, patience, and commitment. Salwa, as most impressionists, rebelled against the old way of painting. She wanted to paint in the open air, and make airy, sketchy, bright pictures. Instead of meticulous details, they were content to make “impressions” of an object or person, letting a few lines or strokes of color represent the object.
Salwa Al-Moayyed started her career in 1983 as an amateur painter, and then great success opened the way for larger horizons through different art exhibitions in Bahrain and outside. She studied impressionism, expressionism, surrealism, abstract arts at the Higher Institute of Applied Arts, and 6th of October City, where she was accepted as Visiting Artist in 2010.
