Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Honored Prime Minister, Bahrain Culture and Antiquities Authority (BCAA) will hold Bahrain’s 41st Annual Fine Arts Exhibition on Wednesday, 4th March 2014.
The exhibition, with four decades of history, celebrates the creativity and ingenuity of the local Bahraini artists. Representing an opportunity to highlight different schools of thought, artists’ perceptions and ideological backgrounds are asked to evoke freely in order to instigate a dialogue about pluralism and artistic visions, experiences and expressions. The exhibition will be held for one month from March 4 at the Hall of Bahrain National Theatre.
The Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition, now in its 41st edition, will showcase a selection of 50 masterpieces, ranging from oil paintings, photography to assembling works and sculpture. Aiming to achieve the highest standards of scientific objectivity, 170 works were presented by artists to be nominated for the exhibition by a selection committee composed of art critics, academics and fine arts practitioners.
The exhibition this year promises to showcase the best of Bahraini innovation. The Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition is a space which grows year after year, affording people room to question and search. It is a refuge for beauty, and an annual echo that repeats the refrain “Beauty will save world”.
During this year’s edition of the exhibition, the Al- Dana Award will be awarded to the best work nominated by a jury presented again by BCAA. An external arbitration committee took the responsibility of selecting the best art work to be awarded the exhibition’s first prize. It is worth mentioning that this year's award is designed by artist Khalil Al-Hashemi.
Bahrain Photography Club will participate with a series of photos, after winning and being awarded with the highest point total (154 points) in the Photo of Bahrain the Federation of International Art Photography (FIAP) World Cup. The organization comprises more than 86 national associations, comprising nearly one million individual photographers.
