Every spring flowers bloomand music lovers in Bahrain will rejoice as this year’s Spring of Culture carries extra significance as it celebrates its 10th anniversary held between March-April. Marking this milestone, the exciting calendar arrayed for the 10th edition of the Spring of Culture Festival under the slogan ‘Ten Bright Years’, will offer lovely music concerts by famous Arab and international artists, such as Emirati singer Hussein Al-Jismi and Egyptian genius Omar Khairat who will enrich the hearts of many in Bahrain.
Expressing his deep appreciation and gratitude to the officials in Bahrain for their efforts aimed at enriching the art and music scenes in the country, Omar Khairat conveyed his special thanks to those who helped his outstanding concert be a smashing success at the National Theatre. Omar Khairat said that Bahrain will always remain a citadel of love, beauty, and historical charm. The Egyptian artist shared his emotions to the reaction from his public through his singing. Omar Khairat argued that this year’s edition of the Spring of Culture reflects the magic and the bright picture of Bahrain.
The world-renowned Egyptian artist’s concert was scheduled for 5 Mach 2015 at the National Theatre and proved to be an outstanding performance and an astonishing success, given the reaction of the public and how the tickets were sold out quickly. The concert was an enchanting evening of music with acclaimed Egyptian composer Omar Khairat, one of the most prominent Arab composers of his era; and the only composer who incorporated the quarter tone with classical music. With his distinctive style, Omar Khairat succeeded in bringing Western harmonic flair to the classic Arabic music structure, reaching new heights with songs such as, ‘Fi Howeid Ellil’, ‘Saber ya A’am saber’, and ‘Place in the Heart’.
From March, as the weather warms and we gear up for spring, there’s a buzz of excitement in the air. It’s exhilarating to welcome in a new season and all the potential possibilities on offer, but this year seems extra special. The annual Spring of Culture festival 2015 is bigger and better than ever before. Packed with variety and a plethora of famous faces, there’s plenty to look forward to. From the spectacular Bharati show to performances from international pop sensations John Legend and Joss Stone, lectures, art exhibitions, this year’s event is sure to become truly memorable.
