H.E Shaikha Mai Receives Outgoing Chinese Ambassador

President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, received on 12 March 2015, outgoing Chinese ambassador to Bahrain, Li Chen. BACA president noted the Chinese ambassador's commendable efforts in uplifting cultural cooperation during his tenure. H.E thanked the ambassador for the good efforts he had exerted throughout his tenure, contributing to the consolidation of the existing ties between the two friendly countries, especially the efforts leading to the celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both countries.

H.E Shaikha Mai stressed the importance of bilateral cultural ties between the kingdom of Bahrain and China, pointing out that Manama has always been keen to coordinate Chinese cultural events and activities in Bahrain. H.E said that Bahrain seeks to have the upcoming year teeming with cultural activities, especially as Manama celebrates this ‘Year of Heritage 2015’ under the slogan ‘Our Heritage Our Wealth’.


The Chinese ambassador, for his part, stressed the deep-rooted bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, Bahrain’s rich culture, and stressed that joint cultural projects implemented in Bahrain will be a lighthouse reflecting the bright image of Bahrain. The Chinese ambassador assured that the common cultural projects, such as the future Chinese Culture Center in Bahrain, which would form a meeting point for Asian peoples and an interactive platform between Middle East and Far East, will form a common platform for mutual fruitful relationships.
