H.E Shaikha Mai Receives the New US Ambassador

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al- Khalifa, president of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA), received on 16 March 2015, the newly appointed US ambassador to Bahrain, William Roebuck, and discussed ways to boost cultural cooperation as well as holding joint activities.

H.E Shaikha Mai, BACA president, briefed the US ambassador on the latest cultural activities in Bahrain, mainly the 10th Spring of Culture Festival, an exciting calendar planned for the 10th edition are held under the slogan ‘Ten Bright Years’ until end of April 2015. H.E said that culture is a way of accentuating the civilized people's achievements, she added, “We preserve our identity while trying to make Bahrain beautiful and attractive to others while celebrating our heritage throughout the year.” H.E noted Bahrain's endeavor to introduce its ancient civilization to the world by participating in international cultural forums and hosting cultural activities from around the world. Throughout the year, Bahrain will continue to stamp its place on the world map as a preferred destination that welcomes and showcases all forms of cultural and artistic expression from around the globe. For two months, a jam-packed agenda of events and activities that suit different tastes and segments of society, including intellectual seminars, music and song concerts, theatrical performances, art exhibitions and museum shows, will attract many visitors and make Bahrain a favorite tourist destination, H.E said.


H.E William Roebuck, US ambassador, for his part, commended Bahrain's cultural activities, expressing admiration for the 10th version of Spring of Culture Festival. Cultural exchange and co-operation has also been spotlighted by US ambassador, who expressed his admiration for the cultural and tourist infrastructure in the kingdom of Bahrain. Ambassador Roebuck stressed keenness to closely cooperate with BACA and holding joint cultural activities and participating in cultural workshops to exchange expertise.
