H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa Receives Russian Ambassador

As part of Bahrain’s efforts to encourage mutual cultural and intellectual relationships, H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, president of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), received on 14 September 2015 the Russian ambassador to Bahrain, H.E Vagif Garaev, to discuss many common cultural topics and issues of cooperation between Russia and Bahrain.

H.E Shaikha Mai stressed the importance of strong mutual relations between Bahrain and Russia, praising the last state visit by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, which opened new doors and widened cooperative horizons in many fields, including culture and tourism. H.E underscored the importance of Bahraini-Russian bilateral relations in light of established historical relations and the importance of promoting them towards broader horizons in all cultural, economic and trade fields in a way that benefits both countries. This reflects the deep-rooted historical connection between the two peoples and their willingness to cooperate to achieve their common interests, H.E argued.

Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) added that Russia has always been present in the cultural scene in Bahrain through many art exhibitions, music concerts, and ballets.

The Russian ambassador, for his part, hailed the efforts deployed by H.E Shaikha Mai to open new horizons with Russia, especially during annual and national festivals and events which bridge the gap between countries and cultures. H.E Vagif Garaev expressed his country's constant readiness to participate in Bahrain's cultural and intellectual development process and exchange many common universal cultural, art and music beauties.
