Celebrating poetry and poets, in cooperation with the Egyptian Embassy, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities organized an evening of poetry animated by the famous Egyptian poet Gamal Bekhit. The event will be held on 20 March 2016 at 8:00 pm at Bahrain National Museum Lecture Hall.
Egyptian poet Gamal Bekhit will present an enjoyable evening of poems that ranges from the profound to the lighthearted as he tackles numerous common themes we face in our everyday lives with his unique witty yet approachable style.
The evening is the result of a fruitful cooperation between Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities and the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bahrain as part of the 11th edition of the Spring of Culture Festival.
The Spring of Culture offers an array of events, lectures, evenings of poetry and many music concerts. The Sheikh Ebrahim Centre for Culture & Research welcomes the public to attend a lecture on 21 March 2016 by Mr. Khalid Kishtainy on ‘Sumer, The First Crib of Democracy’. On 11 April 2016 the Center will welcome the Palestinian writer Aisha Oude who will share her experience in a lecture on ‘Writing as an Action of Liberation & Resistance’. On 18 April the public will have a rendezvous with Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazale as she gives a lecture on ‘The Role of Media in Fighting Terrorism’. Last but not least, on 25 April the center organizes a lecture on ‘Novel & Art Writing Art in the Novel’ featuring four prominent and distinguished writers who are well qualified and experienced to speak on such a highly specialized topic, such as Salah Fadhel, Amani Fouad, Waciny Al Araj, Abdou Wazen.
More poetry lectures will be announced in the future.
