H.E Shaikha Mai Receives Jordan Minister of Culture, Mutual Relations Praised

As part of her efforts to enhance relations between friendly and brotherly nations, H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) president, has received, on 27 March 2016, Jordanian Minister of Culture Dr. Lana Mamkegh and discussed joint cooperation. The Kingdom of Jordan is being celebrated this year as the guest of honor at the 17th edition of the Bahrain International Book Fair being held at the vicinity of Bahrain National Museum until the 3rd of April.

H.E Shaikha Mai commended the participation of Jordan as a guest of honor, saying, “The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has contributed richly to the book fair which has become a meeting point for different cultures and civilizations through many events and activities.” H.E stressed the importance of joint constructive cooperation which yielded a string of cultural projects.

Dr. Mamkegh, for her part, took pride in the choice of her country as a guest of honor at the 2016 edition of the Bahrain International Book Fair, hailing Bahrain’s cultural strides.
The Jordanian minister visited the Bahrain Fort and museum, Sheikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort, iconic houses affiliated with the Sheikh Ibrahim Centre for Culture and Research in Muharraq and the Manama-based Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH).

The Bahrain Book Fair offers diversified Jordanian cultural programs including intellectual and cultural events, such as the meeting with H.E Jordanian Minister of Culture and discussions on Jordan’s cultural movement to be held at 7:00 pm at the Bahrain Lecture Hall.
