A Palestinian parliamentary delegation has conduct a visit to Bahrain National Museum on 14 May 2017, led by Palestinian Authority Deputy Prime Minister Azzam Al-Ahmad, Members of the Palestinian National Council, in the presence of H.E Ali Al-Aradi, First Deputy Speaker - Council of Representatives and H.E Taha Abdul Qader the Ambassador of Palestine to Bahrain. The visit comes as part of the talks on strengthening relations, chiefly parliamentary ones between both countries.
H.E Shaikh Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Director of Museums Directorate at BACA, welcomed the delegation and accompanied them in a guided tour, briefing his guests about the history of the museum, most valuable acquisitions and exhibitions organized according to the historic period of every artifact discovered.
During her visit, the Palestinian delegation toured the different sections of the museum, which includes three halls devoted to archaeology and the 4000 years-old ancient civilization of the Dilmun, while two other halls depict Bahrain's culture, lifestyle and handicrafts. Burial Halls reflect what many archaeologists have unearthed few pieces of pottery and occasionally shell or stone stamp seals, baskets sealed with asphalt, ivory objects, stone jars, and copper weapons inside these burial mounds’ graves. In addition to the archaeological exhibits, the delegation also visited also Hall of Customs and Traditions and the Hall of Trades and Crafts, where life-size models of people are displayed in realistic settings, showing how life in Bahrain was lived in pre-oil, pre-air-conditioning times.
the Palestinian delegation expressed their admiration of the valuable artifact showcased, lauding the deeply-rooted relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Palestine, wishing success and glory to both brotherly nations.
The Palestinian delegation's visit, 14-15 May 2017, is in conformity with the directives of both leaderships on activating joint Arab action and unifying efforts in support of Arab causes, consolidation of parliamentary relations and defending most importantly the just Palestinian cause.
