Open Registration for BACA’s Workshops
The 14th Edition of the Spring of Culture Festival events 2019 also feature a number of different workshops organized by Bahrain Culture Authority throughout its culture facilities an venues for all ages. These workshops will take place on 6 April 2019, and participants who wish to participate in any of these events, are requested to register through BACA’s website on www.culture.gov.bh.
Al Khalifiyah Library, Muharraq, will host on 6 April 2019 at 10:00 am “Glimpses of Traditional Bahraini Architecture” ( ages 6-16 years –old ). The workshop, by Nada al-Fardan, seeks to introduce the youth to the features, characteristics and functions of traditional Bahraini architecture and understand their various aesthetic aspects. The workshop also includes an explanation of these unique architectural characteristics through various hands-on immersive activities.
“Spring of Culture” educational workshops will be hosted by Flexible Theatre - Bahrain National Theatre on 6 April at 11:00 am to shed lights on “Dialogue session about music & the life of musicians” presented by artist Mohammad al Haddad, accompanied by a group of musicians and modern diversified music visionaries.
In addition, on 6 April 2019 at 4:00 pm, there will be also another workshop, “ Al Naqda Embroidery” at Qala’at al Bahrain Fort Site Museum ( 18 years and above ) whereby participants will learn Bahraini traditional naqda, how it is a craft of the silver or gold threads that are traditionally used for the embroidery of women dresses and abayas.
