Bahrain National Theatre- Flexible Theatre - hosted by on 6 April an educational workshops and round table discussion about “ Music & the Life of Musicians” presented by artist Mohammad al Haddad, accompanied by a 20 Bahraini musicians, composers and singers. The session is part of the 14th edition of “Spring of Culture” educational program.
The round table discussion shed lights on many issues related to music production in Bahrain, the challenges and obstacles facing musicians, ways and means of acquiring a driving force from international music experiences, the relationship between musicians and music production companies, music critics movement and its role on the development and rising of music stars, how to protect music works, copyrights etc.
During the discussion session, participants intervened to react to issues and themes laid by artist Mohammad al Haddad, which centered around the role of Bahraini musician in reflecting the cultural identity through his music compositions and songs, his ability to acquire more than a music skill, such as playing, composition and distribution. The artist’s investment in his music skills, and his continuous struggle to develop them and present them to his public, were also among the subjects discussed.
The round table discussion session was attended by a number of artists who argued that the musician can make outstanding music career and creatively shine in Bahrain if his strong will, talent and determination were the driving the force behind.
The discussion session is part of a series of educational workshops planned by The 14th Edition of the Spring of Culture Festival 2019, aimed at increasing awareness about the importance of music in society through theoretical and practical explanations and shows of the different types of music production and tools.
Worth to mention that the 14th Edition of the Spring of Culture Festival will run until the end of April 2019, coinciding with BACA’s “ Year of Celebration”.
