Coordinating Meeting Between Culture Authority and Council of the Capital Governorate
A coordination meeting between Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities and the Council of the Capital Governorate was held on 26 February 2019 at BACA’s Conference Hall. The meeting was attended by H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director General of the Culture and Arts Directorate, a delegation from the Capital Governorate Council, led by Mr. Saleh Taher Mohammad Taradah, the President of the Council, and number of participants from both parties.
H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa welcomed the delegation, lauding the Council’s efforts to develop the urban assets and characteristics of Manama city, pointing out to the importance of enhancing cooperation outcomes between Bahrain Culture Authority and Capital Governorate Council, in order to carry out major achievements and brilliant results placing Manama at its well-deserved position as a capital for universal co-existence and citadel of cultural diversity.
Mr. Saleh Taher Mohammad Taradah, for his part, expressed the readiness of Capital Governorate Council to implement the partnership between the Council and the Culture Authority more and more, praising the strenuous efforts deployed by BACA to establish a sustainable cultural infrastructure in all Bahrain’s areas, especially in the city of Manama.
The meeting also discussed many other common-interest issues, such as the importance of rehabilitating historical houses in the city of Manama, the need to organize common dual events that would contribute hugely to Manama’s presence in the local and regional cultural movement. The meeting also stressed the importance of the role of arts and artworks in the beautification of the city.
