The Cultural Hall hosts on 28 February 2019, its first Spring of Culture Festival 14th Edition’ show, whereby Hathor Plectrum Quartet Quartet and the tenor Aldo Gallone will perform a free concert, titled “Welcome Back, Italian Mandolin” at 8:00 pm. The fantastic music concert is organized by Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The audience will certainly enjoy this concert by Hathor Plectrum Quartet and the tenor Aldo , in which they present a diverse and evocative repertoire of musical works ranging from classic to pop highlighted by two of the fundamental components commonly associated with typical Italian sounds - the mandolin and the tenor voice.
The Hathor Plectrum Quartet is the only quartet of its kind in the South of Italy. Established in 2010, the ensemble performs the rich original repertoire of plectrum instruments, from baroque sonatas to 19th-century Italian and German compositions up to modern and contemporary music. The quartet consists of Antonio Schiavone (mandolin), Roberto Bascià (mandolin), Fulvio D'Abramo (mandòla) and Vito Mannarini (guitar).
The 14th Edition of the Spring of Culture Festival, running until April 2019 also coincides with BACA’s year-long dedication “Year of Celebrations 2019, and presents a bouquet of a thousand flowers, ranging between amazing pulsating music, phenomenal performances, global talents to be hosted by cultural institutions, historical sites and iconic urban centers around the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The 2019 Spring of Culture’s Gold Sponsors include GFH Financial Group, National Bank of Bahrain, Tamkeen and Batelco, while Silver Sponsors include Alba, Bahrain Airport Company, Bahrain Duty Free, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, and Huawei, and supported by Gulf Air.
