Japanese Film Festival  “A Living Promise” at Bahrain National Museum

 

“Japan Film Festival”, organized by the  Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in cooperation with Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities’ plan for the 14th Edition of the Spring of Culture Festival, and  supported by the Japan Foundation, features a series of films to be screened during the whole month of March 2019. On  20 March the movie “A Living Promise”  was screened at Bahrain national Museum Hall. 

The movie tells the story of an IT company CEO Nakahara feels unsettled after he gets a call from a close friend who he had a falling out with three years ago, and heads for his friend's home in Shinminato. However, he discovers that his friend has passed away. Nakahara learns that his friend had been working hard for the Shinminato Hikiyama Festival, which was transferred to another town because of financial difficulties, and fights to bring the festival back.

The festival features a series of films to be screened during the whole month of March every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Bahrain National Museum. Japan Film Festival 2019 kicked off  on 6 March, at 7:00 pm at Bahrain National Museum with the first film titled “ Sing My Life” The second movie was planned on 13 March, titled  “Vancouver Asahi”, while on  20 March the movie “A Living Promise” was screened. The final curtain will fall on Japanese Film Festival on 27 March 2019, the last Wednesday of the month, with “A Sparkle of Life” movie.
