H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), received on 1 October 2019, the Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E Dr. Anwar Habib Allah. The best ways and means to consolidate the cultural and human relations between both countries were discussed during the meeting.
H.E Shaikha Mai welcomed the Chinese Ambassador and praised the historical Bahraini-Chinese relations and the level of cooperation in many levels and fields, especially its strong cultural presence in local events. H.E Shaikha Mai Al- Khalifa stressed the importance of bilateral cultural ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and China, pointing out that Manama has always been keen to coordinate Chinese cultural events and activities in Bahrain during 2019 “ Year of Celebrations”. Indeed, many Chinese projects were organized during this year, opening more opportunities between both countries, such as China’s Suzhou Ballet Theatre masterpieces show on Bahrain National Theater Stage, in celebration of World Tourism Day, organized in cooperation with the chines embassy. Other common cultural projects include Bahrain Culture Authority’s participation in the 2019 edition of Global Tourism Economy Forum, Macau, China, to be held in mid-October 2019.
Chinese Ambassador H.E Dr. Anwar Habib Allah, for his part, stressed the deep-rooted bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, Bahrain's rich culture, and stressed that joint cultural projects implemented in Bahrain will be a lighthouse reflecting the bright image of Bahrain . The Chinese ambassador assured that the common cultural projects will form a common platform for mutual fruitful relationships. H.E Ambassador Hong voiced the constant support and readiness of his country to contribute to the richness of the Bahraini cultural scene through many future projects, stressing the importance of a special and exceptional event to be held at the end of this month, in cooperation between the Chinese Embassy and Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities.
