Tunisian Film Festival Kicks Off, At Bahrain National Museum

As part of  the 15th  edition of the Spring of Culture Festival and in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the “Tunisian Film Festival 2020” kicks off on 26 February 2020 at Bahrain national Museum,  screening the latest cinematic films from Tunisia. Cinema shows start at 6:00 pm. Free admission.

The festival will start on 26 February, with a movie screening “ Weldi “ Dear Son”, by Tunisian writer-director Mohamed Ben Attia, shedding a light on the very first casualties of terrorism, those left to pick up the pieces of shattered family lives. They have to deal with the trauma and heartache of having someone close to them fall prey to radicalization of ISIS brainwashing extremist groups. Inspired by real events, Ben Attia's minutely observed sophomore feature is less about jihadi fighters than the loved ones they leave behind, wrestling with guilt and grief, shame and blame.

The Tunisian Film Festival will carry during  March, screening on 4 March 2020  another movie, titled  “Railway Men”, by Director: Areej Al- Sehiri, while on 14 March, lovers of Tunisian movies will enjoy  “Lune Noire” by Director  Nawfel Saheb Ettaba. Cinema shows start at 6:00 pm at Bahrain national Museum

The 2020 Spring of Culture’s Silver Sponsors include Alba, Bahrain Airport Company, Bahrain Duty Free, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, CITYNEAON, DHL, Gulf Air Alba, Bank of Bahrain,  Tamkeen. The festival is also sponsored by Bahrain Bay, IDM, Park Point. In addition, the program of the festival is supported by many embassies in Bahrain, as such as the embassy of Tunisia, Egypt, Sri Lanka,  Japan, and German.

Worth to mention 15th Edition of the Spring of Culture Festival is organized by Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, the Economic Development Board and Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammad Al Khalifa Center for Culture & Research, in cooperation  with Albareh Art Gallery and La Fontaine Gallery The festival, running until end of April 2020, figures an array of exhibitions, music concerts, theater shows, round-table discussions, cinema screenings, lectures etc. The details of the 15th Edition of the Spring of Culture Festival events, were announced in a  press conference.
