H.E Shaikha Hala Receives University of Bahrain Engineering Department Delegation, Field visits to Manama and Muharraq cultural sites

Complementary to the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning’s decision to form a Building Facades Committee headed by the Dean of the College of Engineering Dr. Fuad Al-Ansari, and the membership of the Director General of Culture and Arts at Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, H.E  Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, accompanied an official delegation from the University of Bahrain headed by the Dean of the College of Engineering Dr. Fuad Al-Ansari and a number of officials as they toured several sites in Muharraq and Manama, introducing the delegation to the achievements and work of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in preserving historical buildings.

The field visits toured Pearling Path, Suq Al-Qaysariyah, Bahrain Post Building, Customs Office Building, and Government Street, Bab-al Bahrain. The delegation visited   Pearling: Testimony of Island Economy, Bahrain’s 2nd  UNESCO World Heritage List project that encompasses a series of historical  and heritage buildings, as well as public open-air spaces and a Visitor Center.  The historical Post Office is located immediately at the backside of Bab –al Bahrain, hosting a museum venue documenting postal services in Bahrain during many decades. The Customs Office Building represents an iconic landmark, crucially important witness of Bahrain’s communications and telecommunications’ history in the region; given that, it was the unique building overviewing the fascinating past marine entry to the city of Manama.
