H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) President Commissioner-General of the Bahrain national pavilion at Expo Dubai 2021, received Mr. Giuseppe Antonio and Mr. Chiaranda Gregory, from Rimond Middle East, a general contracting company working on Bahrain’s national pavilion construction, to discuss the latest developments and project implementation timetable.
H.E asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain is surely heading for a successful brilliant achievement through its national pavilion in Expo 2021 Dubai. H.E also argued that the international event will a good opportunity to promote the rich genuine Bahraini heritage, introduce Bahrain’s UNESCO World Heritage List sites to the whole world, as well as exhibit other Bahraini traditional tangible and intangible elements.
During the meeting, both parties reviewed the latest construction and organizational developments related to the Bahrain National Pavilion, which covers 2,000 sq. ms, confirming that 60% of the project work has already been completed and that the construction works will soon be over according to schedule in January 2021.
H.E also discussed Bahrain’s national pavilion, which has been designed to be a 24m semi-cubic building with a central and open viewing area that is 30m in length and width, supported by 126 columns that are 11cm thick, worked out by a highly first-time engineering team expertise for columns and façades ‘installations.
Worth to mention that Bahrain National Pavilion at Expo 2021 Dubai Appointed is designed by the Swiss architect Christian Keres, who is an acclaimed name in the architectural world and building-related research. He envisions the Pavilion as a path that enables one to explore the interrelationships between creativity, density, and opportunity. The Kingdom of Bahrain Pavilion will focus on the theme of “Density” as an enabler of opportunities; an intricate exploration of the dense natural and urban compositions of Bahrain. In line with Expo 2020 Dubai’s theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, the Bahrain Pavilion offers a realistic approach to delve deep into the event’s sub-themes: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability, from a density perspective.
