H.E Shaikha Mai continues her Korean Capital Seoul’s Visit, Meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister and Culture Minister to enhance cultural cooperation

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, continues her visit in the Korean capital, Seoul, where H.E met, on June 7th 2021, a number of South Korean senior officials. The high-level visit to South Korea upon the invitation of the Korea Foundation is part of the continuous efforts to strengthen and enhance cultural relations between the two countries.

On Monday, H.E .E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa met South Korea’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Chung Eui-yong, and discussed with him ways to enhance cultural relations and means of boosting cultural exchange between the two countries. Both parties agreed and highlighted the importance of culture in promoting a nation’s history and civilization, giving it a singular and unique identity. In addition, H.E Shaikha Mai held a meeting with South Korea’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hwang Hee, with whom she discussed ways to launch joint cultural exchange projects.

H.E Shaikha Mai was warmly welcomed and received by the “Korea Foundation” President, Mr. Geun Lee, and H.E thanked him for inviting her to visit the gorgeous city of Seoul, affirming that the Korean cultural presence in the kingdom of Bahrain local scene has always been a source of pride and richness. During their meeting, they also discussed ways to implement strong joint cultural projects.

H.E Shaikha Mai’s visit to Seoul will continue until June 8th and more meetings with South Korean ministers, officials and heads of cultural institutions are yet on H.E’s visit agenda. BACA’s President S. Korea’s high-level visit program also includes guided tours to discover Seoul’s most prominent cultural and historical landmarks, museums and cultural institutions.
