Bahrain Culture Authority’s Month-Long, Bahrain Summer Festival Kicks off Today

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), keen to offer an array of an amazing entertaining events for all ages and tastes, will launch later today July 1st 2021. The 13th edition of the Bahrain Summer Festival, which will be held remotely throughout the month of July, inspires its colorful cultural program this year from BACA’s “Pearling Path” greatest pioneering endeavor, with a diverse selection of online events and activities inviting you to join the cultural movement this summer – with a click of a button from the safety of your homes. Catering to all ages and interests, the month-long festival’s events and activities range from stage plays and music concerts to workshops, cooking shows and other forms of entertainment, as well as the Nakhool Star talent competition.

The festival events will be broadcasted live on BACA’s YouTube Channel, (Bahrain Summer Festival).

The Summer Festival will consist of musical performances, educational sessions for young kids, cooking workshops, and even creative workshops from topics like character design to short story writing. The festival will kick off on July 1st with “Resto Maryam” a Lebanese theater play which will be shown throughout the month on the festival’s YouTube channel. A series of public competitions running alongside will be held every Monday and Thursday, as well as fun and educational activities and games, all of which can be accessed on BACA’s website, www.culture.gov.bh. Mesmerizing shows and activities will continue with a traditional Chinese music concert, to be held on July 4th in cooperation with the Chinese embassy in Bahrain, and “Tony Memmel and his Band” show on July 7th , held in cooperation with the embassy of the United States of America in Bahrain. On July 18, two shows will be held in cooperation with the Embassy of Palestine entitled “Awlad Haretna” (The People of Our Neighbourhood) and “The Wonders of Science”. On July 20, a concert, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Kingdom of Bahrain, by Egyptian singer Rehab Metwai accompanies the Bahrain Music Band for a nostalgic performance of the most beautiful Arabic classical tunes. Bahrain local traditional music music will also be strongly represented, with performances by Galali Folklore Band on July 21st , Mohammed bin Faris Band on July 22nd and the Bahrain Police Band on July 23rd .

Bahrain Summer Festival will also offer a multitude of exciting workshops for children short story writing activities to be held between July 3rd -6th. These workshops will also serve as the platform for this year’s Nakhool Star talent competition, as well as music, arts and cooking workshops showcasing the cultures of several countries around the world. This year’s edition will also present cooking workshops from several countries around the world, as a window to learn about the cultures and civilizations of other peoples.
